FX Animator

Job Description

The main role of the FX Animator is to create high quality FX animations for our characters, UI, and other game elements. The FX Animator will likely be working on a variety of projects at the same time so the ability to switch between different styles is a must.

Responsibilities

  • Create a wide variety of 2d FX using Spine
  • Building a modular FX library that can be used in various situations
  • Create FX meant for specific situations (like money shots, special moves, etc)
  • Ensure that all art assets follow the strict requirements for file size, color palette, and in-game performance
  • Support marketing and promotional initiatives
  • Work closely with the team in support of creating content for the game
  • Get involved in all levels of the game creation process, from design to debugging, in small production teams

Requirements

  • Mastery of animation design and principles
  • Proficient understanding of FX particle systems
  • Good understanding of energy, flow, real-world & stylized physics, movement interaction, composition
  • Proficiency with Spine, Flash, After Effects
  • Strong drawing and coloring capabilities
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Open-minded and outward-looking
  • Organized and efficient
  • Good critical and artistic sense
  • Ability to work with the rest of the animation team
  • Ability to work under pressure
